A: A Convention and Visitors Bureau is a marketing organization for the area they represent. They are non-profit organizations funded through a portion of the Hotel Occupancy tax. A CVB places advertising and creates promotional materials to attract visitors. A CVB also offers free information and assistance for all travelers. They offer assistance for group tours and conferences such as free itinerary planning, registration and reservation assistance. The CVB operates Visitors’ Centers and work with partnerships within the city to ensure a positive Quality of Life.
