Acclaimed late-night television host, stand-up comedian, best-selling author, car enthusiast, and philanthropist, Jay Leno remains one of the most recognizable and respected figures in American entertainment. Known for his tireless work ethic and quick wit, Leno has long been described as “the hardest working man in show business.”
Leno dominated late-night television for two decades as host of NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” During his tenure, the show consistently ranked as the #1 late-night program in the ratings. His legendary run cemented his place as one of the most successful hosts in television history.
Today, Leno continues to perform comedy shows each year, touring theaters, casinos, and performing arts centers across the United States and internationally. His live act combines observational humor, storytelling, and current events, delivered with the same approachable style that made him a household name.
A lifelong automotive enthusiast, Leno remains deeply involved in the car world through his popular “Jay Leno’s Garage” digital series and YouTube channel, where he explores rare, historic, and cutting-edge vehicles while highlighting the people behind them. The series grew from his personal passion into a globally followed automotive platform with millions of fans.
He is also the creator of Jay Leno’s Garage Advanced Vehicle Care, a widely respected automotive product line used by collectors and enthusiasts around the world.
Beyond comedy and cars, Leno has lent his voice to numerous animated films and television projects, authored children’s books, written automotive columns, and hosted television programs including the revival of the classic game show “You Bet Your Life.”
Throughout his career, Leno has received numerous honors including Emmy Awards, People’s Choice Awards, the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, the Hasty Pudding Man of the Year Award from Harvard University, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has also been recognized by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society with the Patriot Award for his dedication to supporting U.S. service members and veterans.
When not performing or filming, Leno spends much of his time working on his legendary collection of classic cars and motorcycles, widely regarded as one of the most impressive private collections in the world.
Jay and his wife Mavis, a longtime human rights activist, reside in Los Angeles.
